Car inspection course in Finland

Vaalimaa and Kotka were the border crossing points where cutstoms officers from CELBET member states participated in a car inspection training.

Training took place on 19-23 September 2022.

One of the tasks was control of the engine compartment of a car as the inspection target. The engine compartment is often used for smuggling because it has different, small hiding spaces. The secret of successful inspection is choosing the right tools. Thanks to the training, officers had a chance to see what tool is the most effective and easy to use.

One of the most important parts of the exercise is team work, during which the participants deal with the inspection process together, as one. The participants were from: Hungary, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Bulgaria, Poland and Greece. Participants exchanged their own national practices, which is the most valuable side of the training: sharing the knowledge.
