The head of the Romanian Customs Service visited the National X ray Center in Gdańsk
The two days (8-9.03) visit of the Romanian delegation was organized as a CELBET Mission, thanks to which representatives of CELBET member countries have the opportunity to familiarize with various technical and management solutions in countries that have external border of the EU.
X-ray Center in Gdańsk was visited by: The Head of the Romanian Customs Authority, Mr. Bogdan Lari Mihei, the Director General of the Risk Management Directorate, Mr. Marcel Mutescu, and the Director of the International Cooperation Department, Mrs. Raluca Mihail. The Polish side was represented by: Deputy Head of the Department of International Cooperation of National Revenue Administration, Mr. Mariusz Koter, Deputy Head of Regional Revenue Office in Gdańsk, Mr. Marcin Gołaszewski and the Head of the X-ray Center Department and also responsible for the CELBET Expert Center for X-ray Analysis, Mr. Wojciech Gęsikowski.
On the first day of the mission guests saw how did the X-ray Center in Gdańsk function and what was the equipment.
– We were impressed by the effectiveness of the system for collecting and sharing data from X-ray scanners as well as the system for supporting operators who analize a lot of X-ray images – Mrs. Raluca Mihail admitted.
The second day was dedicated to visit to the port of Gdynia. Customs and Tax Service officers presented various X-ray devices used by them in the process of control: stationary, mobile and consignment scanner.
The guests fully agreed that the visit was organized perfectly and the solutions used by Polish National Revenue Administration’s X-ray Center, would meet the needs of Romanian Customs Authority in this area.
